A friend of a friend recently posted a mobile upload on facebook of the Manasquan reservoir in Howell, New Jersey. I thought it would be the perfect place for Fabio and I to put our cameras to good use. We got there at around 4:30 which was the perfect time. A crew team was practicing on the river, and the sun started to set a little after 6. It was so nice to get out of New Brunswick for a while and just enjoy some fresh air. After walking as much of the 5 mile trail that we could in 2 hours, we worked up quite an appetite.
One of my best friend’s who lives in the area told me about a restaurant nearby that had some seriously delicious pizza. Pete & Elda’s just outside of Belmar, in Neptune City, was definitely some of the finest pizza I’ve ever had. Even in Italy, you can’t find pizza that thin. The atmosphere is very laid back, and has a very local feel to it. Half of the restaurant is a bar equipped with over 12 beers on tap. I would definitely suggest checking it out if you’re in the area! Fabio and I got a Large pie, half of the pie had sausage, peppers, onions, and olives- the other half was plain. It took us all of 15 minutes to house the entire thing. We totally wanted to go all Man Vs. Food and take the pizza challenge to win a free t-shirt, but we were newbies so we decided against it. My camera flash wasn’t cooperating with me so the picture below doesn’t do the pie justice!

I hope you enjoy all thoughts that go through my vivacious mind.
